Environmental Program Coordinator — South Shore / St. Margarets (Summer)
The Rural Communities Foundation of Nova Scotia is hiring an Environmental Program Coordinator for the South Shore–St. Margarets region. This is a full-time, 8-week Canada Summer Job position (starting June 29, 2026) at $17.50/hour plus expenses, with remote/hybrid work and some travel to meetings.
The role focuses on rural food systems, climate resilience (including wildfire-related climate work), land access, and youth engagement in South Shore communities. You’ll learn to design and run simple community pulse checks, support local events from logistics to follow-up, organize real-world data for developmental evaluation, turn community experiences into clear impact stories and social media content, and build skills with digital collaboration tools. The position includes regular mentoring from the Executive Director.
Eligibility: ages 15–30 at start of employment; Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection; valid SIN; legally entitled to work in Canada.
