Labour Relations Consultant

The Halifax Regional Centre for Education is the largest education centre in Atlantic Canada. The Labour Relations Consultant supports the labour relations function within Human Resource Services, reporting to the Director, Human Resource Services.

Responsibilities include partnering with management, union leadership and staff to build positive workplace relations; handling grievances and supporting arbitration proceedings; supporting contract negotiations and administering collective agreements; and contributing to performance management systems and professional development initiatives.

Qualifications: a university degree in human resources or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a minimum of three years in labour or industrial relations, collective bargaining, or a unionized environment; and proficiency with Microsoft Office and database systems.

Full-time permanent, 1.0 FTE, based in Dartmouth with Human Resource Services (SLC 8). One opening. Job code 4053084. Salary $82,350 to $102,938, PEG Band 9 effective August 1, 2026. Anticipated start date September 21, 2026.
