The Government of Nova Scotia is hiring a Communication Advisor for a permanent, full-time position in Halifax (Competition #49463). Supporting both the Department of Justice and the Office of Equity and Anti-Racism, this role develops clear, accessible communication strategies, manages media relations, prepares briefings for senior leaders and elected officials, and produces content across digital, social, marketing and web channels.

The successful candidate will have a post-secondary degree in public relations, communications or journalism and several years of professional communications experience, or an acceptable equivalent. Strong writing and plain-language skills, media relations experience, and experience building comprehensive communications strategies for inclusion and accessibility are required. The normal work week is 35 hours. The competition includes a writing assignment just before the interview.

Salary: $3,571.99–$4,465.03 bi-weekly (Pay Grade EC 11), plus a defined benefit pension plan, health, dental, life insurance, disability coverage and vacation.
