Our Mission

By collaborating with employers, intermediaries, and community we aim to create and fill 575 meaningful jobs. By targeting this critical number, we strive to address the disproportionate rates of underemployment and unemployment, where Black people in Nova Scotia are twice as likely, and African Nova Scotians are four times as likely, to face these challenges.

African Nova Scotians are a distinct People who descend from free and enslaved Black Planters, Black Loyalists, Black Refugees, Maroons and other Black people who inhabited the original 52 land-based Black communities in that part of Mi’kma’ki known as Nova Scotia

Manager, Marketing Strategy & Brand


The Manager, Marketing Strategy & Brand leads a team of marketers responsible for developing long-term, data-driven strategies that strengthen brand equity and drive customer engagement. 

Youth Case Manager / Mentor

The Youth Case Manager / Mentor will be responsible for completed client intake and needs assessments and help them develop a clear plan to achieve their employment goals with the support of EDGE. The Youth Case Manager / Mentor works with the project team to provide employment and life skills related training and support to youth (ages 18-26)

Culture of Growing Coordinator

The youth are provided hands-on agricultural and entrepreneurship training with the goal to increase employment opportunities and develop employment skills by exposing participants to careers along the agri-food spectrum, from growing crops to entrepreneurship to research.

Job Success Coordinator

The Job Success Coordinator will be responsible for matching clients to employment opportunities and working with employers to promote their client. Priority will be given to African Nova Scotians who self-identify and only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
