Culture of Growing Coordinator

Imhotep’s Legacy Academy is hiring Culture of Growing Coordinators. Positions are available in Truro, Digby, Sydney, Yarmouth and North Preston. Please note these roles are outside Halifax.

The Coordinator supervises program mentors, manages participant records, and leads youth engagement for students in grades 7 to 12. The work includes running hands-on after-school programming focused on agriculture and entrepreneurship, overseeing community garden operations, building connections with community stakeholders, and ensuring weekly student sessions happen at local junior high schools.

This is a part-time position at $20.00 per hour plus 4% vacation pay, 8 to 10 hours per week plus special events, running September to August. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and the posting is open until filled.

Qualifications include a minimum of two years of post-secondary education, demonstrated aptitude in one or more STEM subjects, knowledge of African Nova Scotian and African diaspora history and culture, and experience mentoring youth.

Preference will be given to applicants who have demonstrated interest and experience in issues affecting the education of learners of African Nova Scotian heritage.
