Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) is seeking an African Canadian Community & Cultural Liaison Coordinator (Designated) to join the Student Services team at Central Office in Halifax.

The successful candidate will work with students and staff across NSCC to advance cultural initiatives, support Black inclusion, and provide services that promote success for African Canadian learners.

The Coordinator will also strengthen relationships with African Nova Scotian communities and partner organizations, helping to build student networks, inclusive programming, and community-informed advising.
 

This full-time position offers an annual salary of $68,917.73 – $91,624.25 and is designated for applicants who identify as Black/African Nova Scotian.

  At the Black Wellness Co-Op, they understand the importance of representation and mentorship in fostering a diverse and inclusive wellness community. This scholarship is designed to not only alleviate financial barriers but also to connect recipients with experienced mentors who can guide them on their journey. Through the  Black Wellness Co-Op Fitness and Health Certification Scholarship  application they are delighted to support and empower individuals who are passionate about wellness and committed to increasing representation within the fitness and health industry. Their scholarship, which awards up to $1000, aims to provide financial assistance for certification programs in fitness and health disciplines of the recipients choosing. FREE MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORTS

  African Nova Scotian and Black youth across Canada deserve mental health and well-being support informed by their rich cultures and diverse lived experiences.  RiseUp powered by Kids Help Phone is a national, 24/7, bilingual E-Mental Health Support Service for Black youth. The service is free and available from coast to coast to coast. Click HERE for more information.

 The North End Community Health Centre offers mental health services through their PAUSE Mental Health program. They are open from 5 pm to 8 pm on Tuesdays & Thursdays for over the phone appointments, and Wednesday’s for in-person appointments at 2131 Gottingen Street. Please call their toll free number (1-800-598-5270) at any time, and leave your name and phone number to be matched with a therapist.

  alongside   are providing support to people of African Descent in Nova Scotia with their  Provincial Impact Toll Free Line .
