The Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC), a national union representing over 250,000 workers across Canada, is currently accepting applications for a committed Grievance and Adjudication Officer to join its Representation and Legal Services Branch in Halifax.
Established in 1966, PSAC is recognized for its leadership in advancing workers’ rights, equity, and justice. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to support members, influence workplace standards, and contribute to the union’s long-standing impact on labour rights in Canada.
PSAC strongly promotes employment equity, encouraging applications from racialized persons and other underrepresented groups. This position requires skillful legal analysis, case preparation, research skills, and the ability to support and guide PSAC officers and members through complex grievance processes.

  The Black Wellness Cooperative is hosting an important community event:  Tailoring Exercise Oncology to Better Meet the Needs of Black Individuals Living With and Beyond Cancer . This session will highlight evidence-based approaches to physical activity for those currently undergoing treatment, survivors, caregivers, and anyone interested in culturally responsive cancer support. The event takes place on December 4th, from 7:15 – 8:45 pm at the Halifax North Memorial Public Library’s Terry Symonds Auditorium. Attendees will learn about the role of exercise in improving health outcomes, with an optional guided movement portion included. The evening also emphasizes accessible wellness spaces and acknowledges the unique experiences of Black communities navigating cancer care. FREE MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORTS
 The Halifax Maternal Wellness Program is a new Halifax-wide initiative that supports mothers, birthing people and families during pregnancy, the postpartum and early parenthood. It’s completely free and offers: family, couples and perinatal counselling sessions, Mom-to-Mom Support Circle, a 6-week maternal wellness program twice a year, and information resources for new parents, partners and caregivers.   African Nova Scotian and Black youth across Canada deserve mental health and well-being support informed by their rich cultures and diverse lived experiences.  RiseUp powered by Kids Help Phone is a national, 24/7, bilingual E-Mental Health Support Service for Black youth. The service is free and available from coast to coast to coast. Click HERE for more information.
 The North End Community Health Centre offers mental health services through their PAUSE Mental Health program. They are open from 5 pm to 8 pm on Tuesdays & Thursdays for over the phone appointments, and Wednesday’s for in-person appointments at 2131 Gottingen Street. Please call their toll free number (1-800-598-5270) at any time, and leave your name and phone number to be matched with a therapist.
  alongside   are providing support to people of African Descent in Nova Scotia with their  Provincial Impact Toll Free Line .
